A Swedish Gaming Group, NordGamb, just started testing the brand’s first-ever online casino across Europe.
Although the company’s two land-based projects, including a casino and a hotel, are in the works, there is no stopping the Stockholm-based company from going ahead with iGaming.
Just last week, NordGamb completed deployment of betlive.com, the online casino platform.
Six-Day Testing Period
The testing of the online platform began on Thursday evening and will last for six days. Players located in European countries can visit betlive.com and create an account.
The games can be played online, only during the testing hours, on betlive.com and money can also be deposited.
On Thursday, the site was open from 5 pm to 11 pm. Today, the site will be open from 11 am until midnight. On coming days, the site opens a little later at noon, 1 pm, and then closes down at midnight.
If everything works as expected and the online casino platform passes the testing phase, the platform should be open fully by next Thursday.
A Reverse Approach
It is imperative to notice that the betlive site is launching in a reverse manner from the followed common practice.
Typically, a land-based casino is well in place before the online platform goes
live.
NordGamb plans to open The Stockholm Casino and Hotel Oslo in 2022. The company
has already invested $900 million in its creation. However, the location for Hotel is not ideal as it might cost the company an additional $270 million for the Hotel to be completed and finally be ready for service by the end of next year.
The launching of an online casino site may seem bizarre at first thought since the casinos are closed as yet, but what is more important is that it has come at a time when online gambling is thriving.
With the constant existence of Covid-19, players prefer to stay at home most of the times. Online gambling gives people a chance to enjoy and get entertained in a manner that is safe as it does not involve physical contact with other people.
They can play easily from anywhere inside the continent. Just an internet connection and they would get a real casino feel on the online platform.
There is a growing interest of people in online gambling in Europe and NordGamb will now be able to take advantage of the situation. Back in May, when only 10 online casinos were live in the whole of Europe, an estimated $800 million in revenues were raised.
This was a significant jump from revenues generated during the month of April.
The reports of June and July are not announced yet and it will not be until November that we see a full report including the NordGamb’s betlive.com subject to the condition that they get approved for full operation next Thursday.
Till then, one can only wait to see if the company is approved to provide services 24/7 across the continent.
